ABOUT US

LITTLE STARS

Little Stars Montessori is a small private Pre-school following the Montessori Method of teaching. We offer a small vertical age grouped class and individual attention, which ensures that your child feels at home.

Children in our school have the freedom to explore their environment and to choose the things they want to play with and learn from, developing their independence. Your child is able to learn at their own pace in our Montessori prepared environment, which aims to support all areas of their emotional, social, intellectual and physical development.

Our outdoor, nature focused environment is designed with children in mind and offers a variety of activities; Art, Music and Culture activities form part of each day at our school.

As we believe that only if parents and teachers work together in the education of their children will the optimum result be achieved, we encourage parent participation.

Our Montessori class takes advantage of each child’s unique sensitivities and offers exercises in language development, sensor motor development, reading, mathematics, physical and natural sciences, geography and cultural studies, music, art, drama and body movement.  The activities in Practical life as well as the other materials are designed to help the child to progress at his/her own rate.  The child is able to direct themselves and to set up there own program of learning in a trusting atmosphere with the close guidance of the teachers.

GET TO KNOW US

Little Stars Montessori was started in 2004 in Capri. After a number of years of training and teaching in Australia our Principal, Mandy Arora, took over the school in 2015, brought us to Sun Valley and we’ve never looked back!

At Little Stars we focus on environmental education at an age appropriate level and actively participate in the WESSA Eco-schools programme.

This has led to great learning opportunities for both our educators and our children alike, such as growing an edible garden, growing sunflowers, tree planting at the local park and at school, learning about the life cycle of silkworms and establishing our worm farm.

“One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child“
